“Looking Out Your Window” (acoustic demo)
October 29, 2016
I.
Thrusted upon imagined shadows
Devoured by the cave
Heard your fingers calling
From the ivories to be brave
The lights were flickering & sliding
Bouncing off the walls
From your mind to mine
The wonder of it all
II.
Four men with umbrellas
Hiding from the rain
A woman standing on a horse
Down in New Orleans
III.
Looking out your window
I saw pumpkins on a porch
Scarecrows slept on banisters
While you were passed the torch
IV.
In haunted dreams & the field of terror
I welcomed the ghost of you
You held my hand through Dementia’s corridors
As polka dots threatened to undo
(artwork on eraser board by Daniel Lyons)
