Unthinkable

Unbelievable

A cop was found guilty for excessive force

Murder even

A sigh of relief

After months of protests

Cities burning, looted, lost faith in society

Civil Rights still not quite right

After 60 years

Or since the birth of this Great Country who am I kidding?

A sigh of relief

It’s not impossible

To see the flaws in our fellow human beings

And hold them up to the laws they swore to protect

They are not judge, jury, and executioner

Find them accountable, just like us

Justice

Prevails

Eyes not blind, even scales

I back the blue don’t get it twisted

It’s just plain to see that man was wicked and sadistic

Still society needs to heal

& it will, I have hope it will
